New Mask Mandate

There is a new mask mandate in Boulder County. St. Luke Church is in Boulder County. After contacting authorities in the Archdiocese, Fr. David received word from His Eminence Metropolitan JOSEPH, “you must comply with the directive for now.” This new mandate concerns all indoor public activities, requiring a mask to be worn for those 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status. The text of the mandate that went into effect on Friday Sept. 3 along with some exceptions can be found at:

Fr. David along with many of our parishioners are disappointed to be under this mask mandate once again. Our parish had joyfully embraced the “face to face” re-connection that we had been able to have since May in our Church. We will deal with this by the grace of God. Our Divine Services continue (you may simply remove your mask when receiving Holy Communion) and even our coffee fellowship can continue for those who wish to participate (active eating and drinking is a noted exception in the mandate). This mandate requirement does not apply to parishioner gatherings in private homes, nor does it apply to outdoor gatherings. We can all pray that this new mandate is not long in duration.
